About T.E.A.M.

T.E.A.M. is a nonprofit organization formed in 1993. Funding for elementary sports was cut from the budget so several involved parents came together to form Traverse City Elementary Athletics Members. Every year there are 2,500 participants in the four sports programs: Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball and Track & Field. Cross Country and Track & Field are open to students grades 4th - 6th. Basketball and Volleyball are open to students grades 5th - 6th.

The objectives of T.E.A.M. are to promote the welfare of youth in home, school, and the community and to develop between this organization and the community such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages in all sports.
It is our goal to teach the fundamentals of each sport, as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Each athlete will participate despite the level of his or her ability.

This is not a "WIN AT ALL COST" program.

It is also our goal to secure and distribute funds to enhance the elementary athletic opportunities in our community.

This is a volunteer organization and would not be possible without the help of all the caring people who volunteer their time to help out on the board, direct the athletics for their school, coach, and work at the events. Thank you on behalf of T.E.A.M. and the community.
